RASP was founded in 1997 to promote literary arts and activities in Redmond, Washington, and the surrounding area. We meet on the last Friday of each month for a featured presentation and an open-mic reading at Centro Cultural Mexicano. RASP also holds a monthly writing critique group via Zoom on the second Tuesday of each month. All events are open to the public and usually free. Please join us!
While literature is one of our best avenues for dealing with difficult subjects, remember that our meetings are open to a diverse audience, including young people. We ask that your reading does not attempt to normalize discrimination or mistreatment of others.

RASP does not charge for most of our programs and events, and has been offering entertainment and support for the Eastside literary community fee-free since 1997. We are entirely self-sustaining.
RASP is an all-volunteer organization and our officers/board members serve without compensation as their way of sharing back the good will they receive as members of the RASP community. However, RASP does self-fund some expenses as part of our operation. Notable of these are the honorarium to our monthly featured readers.
If your employer offers a donation-matching program, we would appreciate having you apply for this using your employer's processes and forms.
On behalf of the RASP community and the board, thank you for your thoughtful consideration and any donation you make. It is our pleasure to provide opportunities to hear well-known writers, share your own writings with our audience, enjoy evenings of critique and camaraderie, and experience occasional other programs of literary value.
